Ioannis Koniaris

Ioannis is a CS graduate and IT security researcher. He is currently working in the field of DevOps and Software Engineering for a software development company, while he has also worked as an assistant in the Network Operations Center of AUTH while studying for his BSc from said university. His main interests are programming, development operations (DevOps), security and virtualization while his academic interests include honeypots, honeyclients, botnet tracking, malware analysis, intrusion detection and security visualization. Ioannis has also released a number of different utilities in order to aid information security professionals using honeypots. Some of them are Kippo-Graph, Honeyd-Viz and the honeypot bundle Linux distro HoneyDrive. These tools are used by numerous university researchers, various CERT teams and have also been included in the “Proactive detection of security incidents II – Honeypots” report by EU’s ENISA organization.
